THE RISALA FOUNDATION
Bringing Houston to Life
We are here to serve you. The Risala Foundation has extensive relationships with the foremost Islamic teachers and works to bring renowned teachers to Houston.
"How much do your events cost?"
The Risala Foundation is committed to keeping the majority of its events free. This means that your generous donations allow the entire community to benefit from the program.
"I have a speaker I like. Can you bring him or her?"
We are committed to bringing new voices to Houston. If there is a speaker you really like, chances are that others will like the speaker too. Please let us know and we will work to bring him or her to Houston.
"How can I get involved?"
We are always looking for people to help us. If you would like to be involved in planning programs, selecting speakers or anything else, drop us a line.
Frequently Asked Questions
"I missed your last event. Can I get the audio or video?"
We believe that the best learning occurs in person, the old fashioned way. While we realize that this is the age of technology, we enjoy the give and take between a teacher and his audience. We also enjoy meeting new people and making our events a forum for like-minded individuals to engage. We are sorry you couldn't make it but we will be looking for you next time!
"My organization is holding an event and we need a speaker. Can you help?"
Yes insha Allah. Let's talk - drop us a line.
"My masjid would like to host an event with you. What next?"
We would love to work with you. Our basic requirements are quite simple: while a functioning microphone is a must(!), we also request that our Sisters be in the same room as the Instructor, seated across from the brothers. Let us remember that we are meeting to learn about our Lord, Allah (SWT). Proper Islamic etiquette is demanded of our attendees but we treat our sisters like Sisters, with equal access to the teachers and comfortable surroundings.
Yes. We love kids and that's why we always have free baby-sitting at our events. The only way they will love the Masjid is if they come to it and build friendships there.
That said, it is your responsibility to ensure that your children do not interrupt the program. Please use your judgement.
